  Creating a Free Website only. But WordPress does not show free option and takes me to payment options. How do I make use of the free option and transferthe domain I own to WordPress please ?

  You can’t transfer a domain you already own to a WordPress.com site for free. A paid plan is required.

  Thanks – Understood I guess there is always a catch when free.
