Creating a grid styled format

I would like to know how to create a 4 x 2 photo grid that is clickable and reveals a label for as you hover over it. I want the two rows of 4 square photos to fill the page. How do I do this?

The way the caption displays is a function of the theme you are using. If your current theme does not support revealing the label as you hover, you may need to select a theme that does, or upgrade to Premium for Custom CSS options.

As a note: “If the gallery image count is a multiple of 3, they will display in the same, small size. If not, one image will be made larger to balance the layout, avoiding extraneous squares on their own line.”
If you want to customize your photo galleries further in terms of the 4×2, you may need to upgrade to Premium for Plugins or Custom CSS.
