Creating a hyperlink to external content
-
I am trying to create a hyperlink to YouTube videos (though I will also want to create such links to other articles or videos in the future) within a post. I do not want to embed the actual video so it shows in the post; I want a link attached to a phrase that, if the reader clicks on the phrase, will take the reader to the video or other website, etc. Every time I try to do this, I get a live link, but when I click it to test it in preview mode, I get this screen:
href.li: hide your referrer
Create an anonymous link that will hide the HTTP Referer header.
Hide the referrer to your URL:href.li bookmarklet – drag this link to your Browser toolbar.
I have no idea what that means or what to do with it. Help, please!
Thank you!!

Hi there!
It sounds like your YouTube link isn’t being inserted into the hyperlink editor, so the URL has no where to go. Can you give me a link to a draft or post where you’re having this problem?

Thanks for your response! I think I figured it out–in copying and pasting I was messing up the link. I’ve gotten several to work in different posts now (well, drafts). Thanks again!
