I have been seeing a lot of information for creating a “Meet the Team” page using php on wordpress.org website. I have a premium account on WordPress.com, is there a way to do the same thing for my blog here?

    Using Flounder Theme

    Hi there!

Could you reference some examples of what you mean by a “Meet the Team” page? I understand the basic concept of what that is and did a quick search no WordPress.org to see some of the chatter about it but a lot is going to depend on what functionality you want the page to have.

I’ll do my best to let you know what your options are once I know better what you’re wanting to do.

    Kind regards,
    Jason

  • Flounder doesn’t have a specific team-oriented page template, but you could just create a page and add people’s photos and bios to it. This guide to image alignment may be helpful.

If there’s a particular style of layout you’re looking for, a link or two to a couple of examples would be helpful, as Jason says.

Thank you both for your responses. There is a lot of options using plugins with a wordpress.org blog. But wordpress.com seems to be a litte more restricted.

I was thinking of creating something like this “https://css-tricks.com/creating-meet-team-page-wordpress/”

I suppose I can make this on a normal page with just images and text.

  • You could definitely do something like that with custom CSS and HTML. If you needed help seeing one up, posting in the CSS Customization forum will be the best way to go – volunteers and staff will help you there:

Some premium themes (e.g. Business Identity, Mood, Collective) do come with a “team” template, if you’d consider that route.

As another option, there are also free and premium themes that have grid templates that might do the trick, such as Sela, Motif, Sequential, and more.

If you don’t want to do the fancy grid – put a picture on the left side and the text to the right of the picture – you can also have a very abbreviated bio with a link to an individual page for each person with more info on the individual persons page
