Creating a new site
-
I started from scratch and created a new site (Jeff Jordan Photography). I added a post and hit ‘preview’. My post shows up, but my Wife’s blog (Brightstargiftsblog) shows up as a link on the left side of my post. How do I NOT tie my site to hers? I thought I was creating a fresh site.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The link you refer to might be in a widget, and is almost certainly easily removable, but it would be easier to determine if we could have look. What’s the address of your new site?
Did you intend to create your new site in the same account as Brightstargiftsblog, or in a different account? If they’re in the same account, then they’ll be connected with regard to administration (same account email address, same username, same password, etc.), but needn’t have any publicly visible links.

That fact that you’ve used the username brightstargiftsblog to post your support request here suggests that your site might be in brightstargiftsblog account.

Address of new site. landscapeart.wordpress.com
I wanted to create a new site, not connected with brightstargifts site. I went into wordpress.com fresh, selected my plan, then started creating my site. I added a first post and clicked on ‘review’. that’s when I noticed that it’s somehow linked to my wife’s brightstargifts site.
How do I create a completely new site?

If you’re logged into an account, then any new site created will be in that account. Also if you’ve logged out but haven’t cleared the browser cache and cookies, then when you create a new site your device’s memory might indicate to WP.com that you’re creating a site in the old account. So clearing the browser cache and cookies before creating a new site is one way to ensure that it won’t be be connected to an existing site.
Another more certain way of keeping the sites unconnected, meaning in separate accounts, is to create the new site on a different browser.
