Creating a new website and keeping original blog
-
I currently have a blog http://www.sandydobson,wordpress,com. I also have another website which is not wordpress http://www.sandydobson.com this was only ever a temporary site, developed and hosted by others, it is about to expire and be pulled down. I now want to create and manage my own website in wordpress on a premium plan and mapping across the domain http://www.sandydobson.com. Can I do this and still retain the original blog site? If not I will have to look for another website builder :(
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Dear Sandy,
If I understand it correctly, you do not care to keep the content under http://www.sandydobson.com but just want the content of your blog to appear under that domain name?
If so, this is a small technical issue. What you need is a domain name registrar, which is the company that issues domain names (for example godaddy, bluest, etc.). For detailed instructions see Use a domain you already own (Domain Mapping)
You need to ask your domain provide to update your DNS (Domain Name Server) settings to link to wordpress. After that, it should be fixed.
Let me know if this helped!
With kind regards,

Thank you for your help Thomas, however I probably haven’t been clear enough.
I want to retain http://www.sandydobson.wordpress.com and all the content and then I want to create a new website for http://www.sandydobson.com with new content. Does that make better sense?
