Creating a new website to replace an existing one

  I have an existing website which I do not want to take down until my new one is ready. Is there a way to create my new website first and then use that to replace my old one once it’s finished?

  It will be easier to point you in the right direction if you provide more context.
  What’s the URL of the existing site? Are you planning on putting new content on the site or will you transfer content from the old site, and will the new site use the old site’s domain name?

  I want to completely replace the old website with a new website which will be using the old site domain name. I just don’t want the old website to be replaced by the new website until I am ready.
