creating a new website unattached to current site
-
I currently have access to ahtletchic.com which my daughter has created. I submit articles and edit articles. I have a side site whereangelsfly that I never got off the ground. Now, I’ve purchased cyndiezahner.com through godaddy and would like to create my own author website. I do not want to disrupt athletchic.com which my daughter has worked so hard to perfect. Please make suggestions. I am willing to change whereangelsfly to cyndiezahner as I finished my first book and want to advertise through WordPress. Am looking for WordPress tutorials –there are thousands out there not affiliated with wordpress. HELP!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, you can map your domain cyndiezahner.com to your WordPressdotcom site cyndiezahner.wordpress.com. Here’s how you can do that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/ It does require a paid upgrade plan to so do.
cyndiezahner.com won’t be connected to your existing site at athletchic.com. They will be two separate sites.
As far as tutorials, here is the current list of site set up tutorials: https://en.support.wordpress.com/category/site-tutorials/
There isn’t one yet specifically for Author websites, although I think that would be a great addition! And congrats on the new book.
For getting started in general, here are some resources:

@cyndiezahner someone had flagged this for staff, but the amazing @justjennifer has you covered! Just as one more link, we’ve been adding a lot of material to http://en.support.wordpress.com/video-tutorials as well.
If you need more help her, let us know!

@supernovia, that’s so cool! Just added that to my list of resources.
I mentioned above that an Author site tutorial would be a great addition to the existing ones. There are a lot of aspiring and published, self- or otherwise, authors that use WordPressdotcom for their base. I added that as a feature request. :)

@justjennifer Ah thank you! My brain saw links but not your comment. I’ll pass that along :)
