  I have a wordpress site created by a person who has moved on. I want to create a new site in wordpress with the same domain. How do I set up a place to create the new website offline and then replace the old?

  One option would be to ask the owner of the other site to transfer site ownership to you:

  When you say you want to use the same domain, do you mean the same WordPress.com address (example.wordpress.com) or the same custom domain (example.com).

  We don’t provide an offline mode for creating sites on WordPress.com but you can mark the site as private. This means the site will only be visible to you and users you approve — and you can work on it in private until it’s ready. There is more information here:
