Creating a new WP website using current host

    We have a WP site hosted on HostGator that’s about 5 years old. I’d like to create a new one and am currently working in wordpress.com to do that. Can I download a new theme on HostGator and work in that until I’m ready to publish? Or can I develop the new site in wordpress.com and then migrate it to HostGator when I’m ready?

    You certainly can get your site set up here before switching your domain from HostGator over!

    When you sign up for a new site, we give you a free subdomain (*.wordpress.com) that you can use to start building your new site.

    Here’s a guide that will help you migrate your site to WordPress.com:
