Creating a portfolio home page in Sketch
-
Hi, I’m trying to set up a portfolio as my home page in Sketch but after following the directions for a portfolio page template I still end up with a page that says No Project Found. I’m sure I’ve missed something along the way, can you help? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you consulted the relevant support docs as well?

Yes I have but am still having problems. I’ve created a page with the portfolio template and set it as my static home page but am unsure how to add projects so they will appear on the page.

I’m sorry but I cannot help you with this theme http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/sketch/

Hi there – the reason nothing’s coming up at http://nwframeofmind.com/portfolio is that you haven’t published any portfolio projects yet. I see one draft project here, but nothing published yet:

Once you publish some projects your page should start to display some content.
Let me know how it goes!

Hi Kathryn,
Thanks for your assistance here. I think I had a different feature in mind when I was trying to work with the portfolio page in Sketch. I’ve used Fontfolio before and really liked how the home page automatically featured newest posts and all my images in a grid style. I thought the portfolio page here in Sketch would do the same thing for me but it looks like I was wrong. I appreciate your time and efforts taking a look at my drafts. I really like Sketch but I guess I’m still looking for the perfect theme fit for me! -
Ah, I see where the confusion lies. Using the new portfolio custom post type in a theme does require adding each project individually. It allows for more flexibility with display and also lets you create a separate blog.
If you’d rather not use the portfolio post type, you may want to check out a theme like Pictorico or Hatch.
Good luck finding the right theme for you!

I do like elements of Pictorico and may spend some more time exploring it soon. Thanks for the tips and for your time!
