Creating a table in post
-
I tried downloading the plugin to enable tables in a post, however I understand that WordPress doesn’t allow plugins for free websites. Would really appreciate being able to create a table.
Please advice.

Hi!
You cannot install plugins you download in WordPress.com sites. To do that, you should use WordPress.org. [Differences org vs com, here ]
Anyway you dont need it, because you can add a table to your post, in three ways.
1.- You can write it by using HTML.
To do that, you need to use the TEXT Tab (rigth side of your text editor), as described here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/beginning-html/And then, use HTML to describe the table exactly as you want. (A good explanation of what you can do with HTML and how to do it could be this: https://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/04/09/table-coding-for-wordpress-com-users/
2.- You can embed tables directly from programs like Excel or Google Docs
You can create a table with Ms WORD, for instance, then copy or cut it and paste in your Post editor (with the “Visual” tab selected)
3.- You can use a website to help you to create tables and then paste the code in the text editor.
This is explained here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/
I hope this helps you. Enjoy blogging!
