Creating a table of pages for a given tag
-
I would like to create a page that includes a table of related pages. For example, I created the page Ideal Language and would like to have a listing of all the pages in the category “Ideal Language”.
Alternately I’d like to be able to have my own custom header to the category listing and perhaps force it to use short listing rather than the whole text.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you create those categories, and then assign those categories to your posts appropriately, then the categories page will list all posts in that particular category. You can then create a custom menu and add those categories to the top navigation in your site.
As an alternate to the custom menu, you can add the categories widget to your sidebar and then when people click on a category name, they will get a listing of just the posts in that category.

Yes, I already have the pages in an appropriate category and I link to the category listing from my page. I’m just looking for some way to combine the two together somehow.

You cannot put “posts” on pages that you create at pages > add new if that is what you are trying to do. Pages are for static content and sit outside the blog structure. Posts are organized in wordpress with categories and viewing a category page brings up all the posts in that category.
Pages cannot be categorized since they are not within the blog structure. They are outside of it.
If you assign all posts that pertain to the “Ideal Language” to that category and then view that category, all the posts assigned to that category will be listed.

What I want is something like the “archives” tag which can be used to create a listing of my blog posts. Unfortunately that tag doesn’t allow searching or selecting a category, it just shows all the posts.
