creating a web site

My business has a web site. It is very old. We designed it in 2008. We want to create a new site. We use square. I found you site through square. Anyway, is it possible to test your product? I want to see what I can build with it. But the first question I am asked is ‘do you have a URL (or some such question). The answer is yes I do have an existing website with a URL but I want to keep that site active while I test out whether or not your site and site builder will work for us. So long story short. How can I start using this site without getting a new URL since I plan on migrating my URL if I am able to work with this site. This would be much easier to speak to someone about rather than try to type this out. But I don’t see a number to call

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

This is kind of where I am at too. I thought wordpress was free and I can’t figure this out.

  • @rodonnellf365734cd7, I see that we already helped you with that via live chat.

, The WordPress software is free. To use it to build a site, though, you have to purchase hosting from a hosting company. Here on WordPress.com, we offer both paid and a Free plan. So, if you want to try out WordPress, you can start with our Free plan and upgrade later.
