creating a website

I signed and paid for a year with Namecheap because they had the WordPress Softaculous website creation tool and it was free with the subscription. I went through the song and dance of having my DNS server point to Namecheap as the Web Hosting service. Problem the Softaculous app doesn’t work. I have wasted almost a month trying to get it to work. The cred of WordPress is being damaged by that association. I need to get my exclusive site, simple as it may be up and running asap. I don’t need a blog, I don’t need SEO and I don’t need any more useless information from Namecheap. I’m coming to the source for my app and God help me if I don’t get it done this time.

  • That would be regarding a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

Additionally, Softaculous is a third-party company, which neither us nor WordPress.org control, so we cannot assist with that either.

With that said, we’d be happy to help you get your site up with us here at WordPress.com instead. :)

If you’re just starting out with WordPress.com, I recommend you go through our new user’s guide: https://wordpress.com/learn/

In just a few quick steps, you’ll learn about all the best and most useful features of WordPress.com, with lots of screenshots and videos.
