Creating / adding a weather widget

Hi, I’d like to add a weather widget in the footer. Is there any way to create a weather widget for the link below?

    http://www.ipma.pt/pt/otempo/prev.localidade.hora/index.jsp

If not,, is there a widget, which will show the weather in the Algarve (South Portugal)?

I am using the Arcade theme on a premium plan.

    Many thanks for any help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Weather Underground has HTML coded Weather Stickers you can put into a text widget. Go to https://www.wunderground.com/stickers/ and in step 1, enter your city and state, but do NOT click “Find” and the stickers on that page will change to reflect your location. Click on your chosen sticker style, copy the code and then add that code to a text widget in a sidebar or footer widget area and save.

Thanks for that. I did as you said, i.e. not clicking on “find”, but to display the weather for “Salema, Portugal” I had to select it from the list. When doing so, the site takes me straight to a different page (https://www.wunderground.com/q/locid:POXX6427;loctype:1), meaning I cannot change the details and San Francisco, CA is still displayed. Any solution for this?

Hmmm, I tried to enter Salema, Portugal as well and it keeps taking me to Salema, Oregon. It seems their page may be somewhat broken. I’ve checked several other weather widgets, and they all contain script, which we can’t use here at WordPress.com. This was the only one that was HTML only.

How about Lagos, Portugal or Vila do Bispo, Portugal?

Hooray, Lagos works. Just to make sure you don’t have any problems, here is the code I got from the Weather Underground site.
    <span style="display: block !important; width: 180px; text-align: center; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px;"><a href="http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=zmw:00000.9.08533&bannertypeclick=wu_bluestripes" title="Lagos, Portugal Weather Forecast" target="_blank"><img src="http://weathersticker.wunderground.com/weathersticker/cgi-bin/banner/ban/wxBanner?bannertype=wu_bluestripes&airportcode=LPFR&ForcedCity=Lagos&ForcedState=Portugal&wmo=08533&language=EN" alt="Find more about Weather in Lagos, PO" width="160" /></a><br><a href="http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=zmw:00000.9.08533&bannertypeclick=wu_bluestripes" title="Get latest Weather Forecast updates" style="font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 12px" target="_blank">Click for weather forecast</a></span>

Thanks so much for this. Is it also available in ºC (Celsius)?)

  • Yes – when you create your sticker, select “Metric” in step 3 for “Units Prefence”:

Would someone be able to send me the code for the weaher sticker in ºCelsius for Lagos, Portugal, please? When I enter a place, I get automatically redirected to another page and cannot visualize the stickers or code. Thanks!

  • I’d suggest you contact Weather Underground as this really isn’t either a WordPress.com or a CSS issue.
