creating an email account with my new domain name

    Hello,

I am having trouble creating a new email address related to my new domain name. wholelifeeducation.net
How create an email that is (email visible only to moderators and staff)?
    Wordpress is my domain host.

    Thank you!

  • You can add email to your domain following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

Thank you for your response, however, I specifically read on wordpress as I considered purchasing a domain, that wordpress would host my email if I purchased my domain thru them. I am disappointed by the misinformation and would like a refund on my newly purchased domain. How might I go about this?

  • We have never offered email services. Would you please let me know where you saw that? I might need to clear up some of the wording.

If we cancel your newly-registered domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.

If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/

However, if you don’t want this domain at all, you can cancel it for a full refund if you purchased it within the last two days. To cancel the domain, go to Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard. Locate the domain you want to cancel in the list, and click on the Cancel and Refund link near to it.

This cannot be undone, so please follow the on-screen instructions carefully before you confirm the cancellation.

Thank you very much for letting me know I can keep the domain and move to a different site. Below is the location on wordpress where I read I could have a personal email address linked to my domain name.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-a-domain/
It said, “Why is this important?
Your own domain name looks way better on your business cards
You can have email addresses on the same domain name (like (email visible only to moderators and staff))
You can create subdomains (such as blog.mygroovydomain.com)”
    I would appreciate your thoughts/response.
    Thank you!

Oh, in my last comment it says[email redacted] where I cut and pasted from the actual wordpress web page. The actual page says “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”
    hmm..what does this mean?

Ahh! this keeps changing what I’m typing! I did not type “email redacted!” what is going on?

  • Ah yeah, that’s mean that you do have the option of having one, like through the other services, not necessarily that we provide one.

I’ll see what we can do about clearing that up.

    Hello!

You helped me with a previous question about wordpress email accounts. I now have a question about my blog. For some reason, when I log in to edit, I can edit from the back end but the blog is no longer giving me access to edit from the front end (ie. the actually blog page). In the past there was a black bar at the top at which I could access my dashboard and my blog. From the blog, the black bar no longer shows up nor do the editing options at the end of each page. Can you help me restore this feature?
    Sincere Thanks

  • First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

    Hello,

Thank you very much with your help regarding my editing issues. Though I am still working on finding a solution on my web browser, I have been able to edit from other computers and browsers.
    I now have a new question. :)
I have been trying to include a few paypal buttons on my wordpress site but when I enter the paypal object code into an editing page, it does not show up on the page after I update it. Could you help me solve this? It is very important to me as my business depends on it and is sort of on hold due to the editing issue. Is there something I need to do with wordpress in order for the paypal buttons to show? I sincerely appreciate all your help. Is there anyway to transfer these interactions to a non-public forum?

  • We cannot allow form code for security reasons, which is what their buttons use by default.

To add a PayPal button, please follow this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

To place your next support request off of the public forum, please visit http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ and choose the private support option.
