Creating an ending for a post’s URL
-
I used to be able to create an ending for a post’s URL, instead of it being assigned the first words of its title. Now I can’t see this option when writing a new post. That’s quite important to me since I write in Hebrew, and the title words are being changed into a long line of numbers and other characters. How can I reactivate that option?

Hi there, you should still see a slug option. It’s under the Post tab > Permalink option in the block editor.
Let us know if you’re having trouble finding that!

Hi, thanks for the response. In the Permalink option all I see is a link to the post. The link has a (post) number. It leads to nowhere until publishing the post. More to the point, there’s no option to change the slug.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I can’t see the slug editor. It simply omits it and just shows the words in bold and the link at the bottom of the red square in the pic you posted.

Hi there,
I visited your site and for me the option to change permalinks appears on the left as expected, same as shown in the above screenshot. I recorded a video of what I see here: https://d.pr/v/HIsa86
To clarify, you se something different on your end, and cannot enter a custom permalink ending such as I have shown in my video?
If you do not see the same, it sounds like an issue on your end which I have not seen before. Since I can’t see what you see can you take a screenshot of what shows on your end?
To share a screenshot of what you are seeing, you can use https://snipboard.io/
Simply upload your screenshot on that web page, and then copy the link (created after you upload your screenshot) and paste it into your reply here so we can see it. Thanks!

Thanks for your answer! Here’s what I see: https://snipboard.io/0AUFLT.jpg
Up until last week my dashboard was just as seen on your video. Now for some reason it’s different. I tried using another browser (Edge instead of Chrome), but it was the same. -
Thanks. We did some digging and were able to find another report, even though I can’t seem to duplicate this on my end. We’ll let you know what we find.

You’re still special! :-D One of our colleagues was able to duplicate this, so we’ll be checking in with her when she’s online and also collaborating with others who may be seeing this.
Talk to you soon!

Update: I’ve just created a new post. When first writing it, the problem continued. I saved the draft (twice), and suddenly the box for entering a slug. When I tried to create a new post, the box disappeared again.
