Creating an Export file-not getting the whole blog

I am trying to download an Export file to move my blog (love WordPress but I would like some more widgets…Not sure if I will actually move yet though, we’ll see)..Anyways, I only get some of my posts in the file. Help?

…and is there any way I can choose what I want to move?

    Thanks!

    Have you tried Google?

The XML file that is created with export will contain tags, categories, comments (spam as well if you do not clear it first) and your posts. Your Links (blogroll) that you have entered can be exported separately.

What will not be exported is the theme, anything you have put into widgets (text or otherwise), images videos, audio files or other documents you have uploaded. Your uploads will have to be moved over manually one by one. Anything you have in text widgets you would need to keep, will have to be copied out and pasted into a plain text file on your computer.
