Creating an online store that allows users to create accounts

Hello,
I am interested in creating an ecommerce website to sell products. I am wanting to include the feature where customers can create accounts to log in, view orders, save items, etc. I was wondering if WordPress supports this.I realize there is a difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org. What is recommended? I am a newbie. Thanks!

No blogger initiated advertising is allowed on WordPress.com blogs. The only blogs that can be equipped for ecommerce are those with the $299. per year business upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/
The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.

If you move to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, and if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
