Creating 'Archives' Page
-
I thought it would be simple enough to create a basic yearly archive page, but apparently I am a little too slow to figure it out. I am clearly missing something.
Here is the issue:
I have created several posts, and was looking to make a basic year-based archive page, in which the layout would be:Year
Post
Post
PostWell, you get the idea. But instead, it is displaying:
Pages:
ArchivesCategories:
CategoryTitle1
CategoryTitle2Authors:
Kodey (3)Monthly:
February 2015Recent Posts:
PostTitle1
PostTitle2
PostTitle3I created a page titled “Archive” and selected the “Archive” template. I installed an archive plug-in, in hopes that it would solve my issues, but the display didn’t change at all.
As you can tell, I am very new to this and am completely confused.
My wordpress site is running genesis framework and eleven40 pro child theme.
Any and all help would be very much appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Which website are you referring to. I don’t find any posts on your website The Simple Balance. However, should there be posts published in 2014 and 2015 the corresponding archives pages URLs would be
2014 post archives page — http://thesimplebalance.co/2014/ and
2015 post archives page — http://thesimplebalance.co/2015/.You may also create customized post archives pages with display posts shortcode.
I wonder how you got the result that you describe, with pages, categories, authors, monthly, etc. Did you use shortcode?
