Creating custom post page

  I need to create a page that has two separate sections displaying a thumbnail image and a description per entry/post. This is to display employees in the company in 2 separate sections (i.e. executives, and support staff).
  I was thinking of creating posts and categorize them (executives and support staff) and then have them display on a separate page.
  so,

  • how can I prevent those posts from being displayed on the home page
  • can I control the order of those posts
  • is there another way to do this
