Creating galleries

  Is there a gallery option for ‘Black Letterhead’ theme? Also once we create a gallery for one page, can we create a gallery for another page? This would be for another theme.

  In this one, I’d like to know how I can keep this gallery, and create a different one on another page. Will this one get erased?

  On this one, I want to create a gallery instead of stringing these in a long line, but I don’t see a ‘create gallery’ option – only media library.

  I think I have the multiple gallery thing figured out, but still not sure on the Black Lettehead theme. Not seeing an option to build a gallery.

  Creating galleries is not a theme dependent feature. I can point you to some resources and that will get you started.

  When you upload pictures, they are usually attached to the post that you were working on when you uploaded them. When images are attached to a post, you can use the gallery feature to display them. But you don’t have to use a gallery to display the pictures. http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

  If you don’t use a gallery, however, you do need to insert images into the post one by one in order for them to become visible. http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/

  If you upload an image directly to the media library (rather than from a post) you can still add it to a post or page. If a picture is not attached to a post see here >

  I only get ‘media library’. Photots are already on the page, but I want to get them into a gallery.

  This is not a theme dependent function. If you upload images directly to the media library from Media -> Add New, then you will need to attach them to a post or page before they will appear in a gallery.
