Creating Login Page without Plugins
-
Hi folks,
I’m new to WordPress.com, and I’m wondering if you all have some tips for creating a login page without resorting to plugins (mostly because I don’t want to pay for the $300 business plan). How complicated would this be for someone who doesn’t have web design experience, but is able to think logically and learn fairly quickly?
Thanks in advance for any leads. -
Hi there,
When you say login page what exactly would this look and function like ideally? If you can provide a little further detail as to what you are looking to achieve we may be able to provide better direction on the potential options available.
If you are simply wanting a page that requires a password be entered in order to view the content this is an option on all plans. You can create a page and change the Page Visibility to Password Protected and then provide the password only to those you want viewing the page. For more information on this feature please review the following documentation: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/
If you are interested in more complex and function rich set up then plugins would likely be the best route to take.
This Business plan does enter you into another whole world of flexibility and functionality but there is documentation available on every step imagine-able and with this plan you gain access live support to walk you through the basics of getting started.
Hope this helps!
Cheers

Hi dkmyta,
Thanks so much for your helpful response!
I’m teaching a couple of classes, and I want the content for each to be available only to the participants in each class. So, I want my main page to remain visible to everyone, but also to have (ideally two sets of) password protected content.
