Creating menus and then adding posts to them?

I’ve read through the guides, read other people’s questions and answers, and I must be missing a trick, as I can’t for the life of me figure this out.
All I basically want is a bar at the top of my blog, with a number of options, being as follows: About, Contact Me, Guides, Day trips, Hikes.
I’ve managed to get this, by creating these all as pages. Visually this has worked, and they sit nicely about my Blog title. When I click About and Contact me, that all works fine. I now have 3 blog posts (I’m very new haha). I want to add one blog post to Hikes, one blog post to Guides, and one blog post to Day trips.
In the future, when I have more blog posts, I’d like it to be so when someone clicks on ‘Day trips’, they get a similar page to what my home page looks like (i.e. all of my blog posts, with their images and ‘read more’ button) but obviously filtered to just day trip blog posts. Same for guides, and same for Hikes.
I hope this makes sense, I believe (from seeing every other flipping blog out there that pretty much has this) there is a simple solution, but I’m just not getting it!
Any help much appreciated, its really frustrating me.

http://www.adventuresaftertea.com/ is not hosted on WordPress.COM. It hosted at BlueHost and is using the WordPress.ORG software.You have posted your issue in the wrong forum. This forum only supports the sites hosted on WordPress.COM and not elsewhere.
