creating my own themes for wordpress.com

  I’ve downloaded wordpress.org so that I could write and test themes. But I don’t want to host wordpress myself, I want to use it on my wordpress.com blog.

  Is it possible for me to write a theme for use on my wordpress.com site? Would I need to make the theme public in order to do this?

  Most forums I’ve searched only describe the process of uploading a theme to a managed wordpress.org site, not to wordpress.com as I’d like to do.

  Could someone point me in the right direction?

  I’m srry, i cant
