Creating new website. How to keep current one running while I create it?

    I have a domain name and will need time to create the site before moving the domain to WordPress. So, how do I keep my current site up while working on the new site?

    Hey there, you’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.

    I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
    https://wordpress.com/plans

    Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
