Creating searchable lists in Chalkboard theme
-
Hi. I’m using the Chalkboard theme. I will shortly be receiving numerous book review posts from my students and I’m pretty certain that handling that much content will soon get out of control.
Does anyone know how to create a searchable list so that when I create a Book review archive page, users could find the reviews by author, title, date, and series.

All you have to do is add the search widget into whichever page you would like. That will allow people to search for whatever they want on your site.

See here for the search widget > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/search-widget/
The WordPress.com search engine indexes post, pages, and comments content (body text). Unless entered as text in those contents, blog name, post titles, and post/comment author names are not indexed.

If you use Book review or just Reviews as a Category heading and install a Categories widget your visitors can click the Category on any post it’s assigned to or in the Categories widget and find all the Reviews.

Thank you guys.
I’m using the Coraline theme now. But I did as you suggested and created a Category list.
Also, I created 2 additional pages. One, named Book Review Archive for “titles” listed in alphabetical order. Each title is then linked to its’ Book Review post.
