creating separate pages using widgets?

  I am tech challenged and attempting to build my blog page. My goal is for a blog-o-zine. My issue is creating pages that will link to specific content. For example three separate types of content: fashion, dating and divorce. I’ve tried to create via widgets which will direct you to different pages, but can not figure it out. I can’t even get the menu topics to show up on my main page. Your help is much appreciated.
