Creating Seperate Sections To Post To?

    Hi there,

I’m New to this and am playing around at the moment trying to figure things out.

I intend to create a personal development web site. Here is what I want to do

    1. Post essay length articles in the ‘blog’ section with its own categories, key words and archive
    2. Have a ‘key ideas’ blog section with shorter articles and their own seperate categories, key words and archive.

Is this possible, and if so how could i set it up?

    Many thanks for your help,
    Richard.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is only one “blog” page where posts appear, and that is the main blog page. You cannot turn pages that you create into additional blog pages. Pages that you create are static and sit outside the blog structure and are for information that seldom changes. Classic example: About page.

My suggestion is to categorize your posts to separate them into the groups you wish and then include the “categories” widget in your sidebar. When people click on the category name in the widget they are taken to a list of posts on your blog in that particular category. In category view, some themes show the entire post while others show only an excerpt and others will show only the post title in category view.

If you further want to control how and what your visitors see, then create a static front page and in the body of that page put links to the categories. http://support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
