Creating site without domain

  I am trying to build a new website for my employer as his current one is bad at best. I want to frame the new site out before taking on full responsibility while he decided if this is something he wants me to go ahead with. I want to leave his domain powering his current website so how do i make a new site without interfering with his domain

  Hi there,

  WordPress.com gives you a free domain to get started, so you could use this as a testing domain while you build out the new website, once it’s ready you can point the current domain to your new WordPress.com website.

  This is the route I would go down as it’s free!
