Creating slider on homepage for sela theme

Hi there,
I’m attempting to create a slideshow of pictures on my homepage and I’ve given it a shot but not sure I’ve completed it correctly. My pictures also do not spread across the entire page. Pls direct me to the correct steps…

Hi there. The Sela theme doesn’t have a slider that appears at the top of the page.
What you could do is put that gallery slideshow on a page instead of a post and set that page to use the full-width template (see the page attributes module of the editor for page templates). Then set that page as your home page. At the very least, that will centre the slideshow on the page, even if it isn’t full-width.

Could you tell me how did you make the slideshow in the firs place, please? I am trying to make one by my own but I still don’t know how to configurate it. I am more familiar with wordpress.org but in .com is different.

The easiest way to create a slideshow is to select Add Media when you’re editing a post or page and then inserting an image gallery. Then you just select that the gallery is shown as a slideshow: https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/You can also use a shortcode, but it’s a bit more complicated and not as customizable as using the gallery option: https://en.support.wordpress.com/slideshows/

Thank you I will let you know how it goes. Also, how can I move my social media icons to the top tool bar? and make the headings and icons look centralised. Can it be done on the sela theme, or do you know which theme I can do it on? I believe its something to do with CSS?

If a theme doesn’t have a slider I don’t think there’s any way to create one as it has to do with the theme’s programming, not just its appearance. What you see on the theme demo is a featured image. The link @timethief gave you explains how to set that up.
Also, how can I move my social media icons to the top tool bar? and make the headings and icons look centralised.
To move the social links menu you’ll need to use CSS, yes, and for that you need the custom design upgrade (included in the Premium plan).
