Creating static google maps for travel blogs
-
Hi, I am really new to all this so please don’t respond with cyber talk if you can help.
I am trying to put static maps into my articles. ie; i have an article on NYC and want to focus on central park for example in one article and include a map that shows central park not all of manhattan. I am struggling to find a way to create this.
All i have managed to do so far is embed maps that move, which I don’t want. I just want to be able to pick an area on the map and save it and paste it into my article.
I am losing it as i don’t think it needs to be so complicated. Can anyone advise me on how to find a location I am looking for, create this on a map and then save this map to my computer which i can then upload onto my site/embed as long as it doesn’t move.
I have authorized API access with google so i have gotten this far. I am just struggling to get a map into my site showing the location i desire. The mapquest maps are not as nice either.
Please help me!

Hi there,
Sure! Here’s a guide that Google provided on embedding a static map:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/staticmaps/#quick_example
This will show just a static image of the area you want.
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
