Creating Username only accounts

  I am trying to create Username only accounts and when I send out the invites the Username only option doesn’t appear. I did manage to do it once, but I can’t figure out how I did it. Any suggestions

  Hi. Directly below the “Username” box, there is a small link called “Just a username please”.

  If your guests are having trouble finding that link, give them the following URL:
  http://en.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

  Help! I have the same issue as silverspringsgarden. I want to invite people to my private blog without them having to create a WordPress account. I understand why WordPress would want to rule the blogosphere, but just not this week please! I followed your link and I still can’t see the “Just a username please”. Even the WordPress tutorial says there is an option for this, but why am I not seeing it?
