Creating website with own domain

  Hi there. I am trying to create a wordpress site with my existing domain. I am just wondering if my domain needs to be hosted prior to me mapping it on wordpress, or if I can simply map it on wordpress without it being hosted already.

  You can map a domain you already own on WordPress.

  You do not need your domain to be hosted anywhere else before mapping.
