Can you elaborate a bit more? What kind of widget are you looking to create and what is the content meant to be?

I’m afraid I still don’t understand. What exactly do you want to achieve? Can you link to the content?

I want to write a widget where information from my webserver is displayed on the right or left bars.
Ideally, a person should be able to paste a script in the text widget, but wordpress does not allow that. The content that is displayed could be text or a button which when a user clicks, an mp3 is played.

Seeing that you’re not being detailed enough I don’t know what to reply to you. This forum is mainly frequented by unpaid volunteers with no blog access.
What are you exactly trying to do on which blog here and what help or information are you looking for?

@maherlewis, making widgets for here at wordpress.COM is more than a little difficult since there are so many restrictions on the code that can be used.
No PHP
No javascript
No flash
No iframes
Very limited HTML allowedYou need to review this to see what you are up against: http://support.wordpress.com/code/ .

I want to bundle the following code in a widget:
[audio http://mywebsite.com/mymp3%5D
http://www.mywebsite.comI could just have people paste this code on blog, but then there is a risk that people might just use:
[audio http://mywebsite.com/mymp3%5D
and not
http://www.mywebsite.comIf I create a widget then they will have to display the name of my website below the audio
I hope this is helps
