  Can I transfer my existing website, plus the domain name, to a newly-created WordPress website?

  What is the URL of your site now so we can take a closer look?

  You have a WordPress site set up on another hosting provider? If so we have a guide here for moving that site to WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/

  Hi.
  Thanks for the swift response to my question.
  I’m not actually wanting to switch my website to WordPress until around the New Year, so I wouldn’t want you to go to too much trouble over this. But if you can give any brief advice/guidance about whether an eventual transfer would be possible, that would be great.

  Thanks for the details, Sarah.

  You’ll be able to transfer your site by following the guide that staff-totoro linked above, however, you wouldn’t be able to transfer your domain here:

  https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/#which-tlds-extensions-can-i-transfer-to-wordpress-com

  Instead, you’ll want to map it (it will be registered where it is now but will point to your new WordPress.com site):

  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
