Creative Builder Needs Opinons Of The QUALITY Of My Almost Finished WP Website
-
I’ve had a nice website originally created in Dreamweaver since the late 90s and have been adding to it every since using a WYSIWYG Editor Adobe Contribute. https://woodsshop.com/
I get very good traffic, I had it updated for modern mobile coding awhile back, but everyone was saying Joe, your old site is outdated, Go with a new WP website with ECommerce! So I choose the Host for my website to do it, but I’m not at all happy with it and would like to hear your opinion of it please. http://devsite.woodsshop.com/
for one, it looks just like my existing site. I was expecting something more cutting edge and up to date.
I don’t know Anything about using WP yet, don’t know what makes a real cutting edge website better then another. So I started reading up and asking around a little, talked with a WPress guy, and he said to ask my Host if they’re using the Genesis Framework for my new site and what theme we’re using.
My Host said- We are not using a framework per se. We are using WordPress with the Wood Worker theme and the Visual Composer plugin for editing the layout of the pages.
The Tech guy I was getting advice from then said –
When you say your hosting company is doing the site, that right there is scary. I’m sure the price is low or at least it better be. My apprehension is further fueled by the mention they are using Visual Composer. That is probably the worst one of the bunch and it is definitely on the list of messiest with the “shortcode hell” produced by the plugin.so Folks, I do some very unique, creative design build and need a site to reflect that. What should I do, keep going with my host but ask for some changes to the coding / framework / theme / whatever?
I’m paying them $6,000 total.
I wouldn’t mind paying someone for good honest professional advice on what I should do next! This is a very important decision I need to make

Looks like you’re on the wrong forum. It appears that you’re using the self-hosted version of WordPress and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:
