creative common license or, copyright issues
-
I want to add some artistic works of mine to my blog,
and want to know, if there is a way not to permit visitors to download them?
or at least, if they do so, with a copyright sign, or so…
or is there any feature to say that those are protected with some licenses?
thanks! -
We cannot answer technical questions accurately without a link to your blog, starting with http.

Thank you. You can add a Creative Commons notice in a text widget in the sidebar, or put “CC License” or similar in the Captions of each photo, or put it in the text of your posts. There’s no real way of preventing people from downloading images online; I’m no techie and I can do it without breaking a sweat.
The one theme that does give SOME protection is Monotone, but it only lets you display one large image per post. People can’t right-click, save, because clicking on it moves you to the next page.

Technology makes it really easy to copy, modify and share information, whether we talk about text, images, audio or video. The problem is that the vast majority of people do not have a clear understanding of the Copyright Law. As a blogger it’s important to take the steps required to protect your digital works and post a notice that you have done so to deter content theft, understanding that it will only deter some people. There are alternatives when it comes to licensing your work but above all I recommend watermarking your images.
Creative Commons licenses provide a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators.
MyFreeCopyright.com provides protection for Literary Works, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Sound Recordings. http://myfreecopyright.com/
creators.icopyright.com- protection for Literary Works Visual Arts Performing Arts Sound Recordings http://creators.icopyright.com/
In this post you will send links to several free sites and apps. for watermarking your images http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com/2007/10/19/watermark-your-blog-images/
