Credit card charge –

I need to talk to billing. You charged my card $99 today and it is not associated with this account. I did not sign up with you today. I need to talk with a person and get this straightened out.

  • Hi –

Thanks for getting in touch. I’ll be happy to help!

You are correct, there hasn’t been a recent charge in that amount to this user account, mwrpaintings.

Did you receive an emailed receipt from us? Can you tell me what site is mentioned on that receipt? Or, you can try to sign in at WordPress.com with the email address where that receipt was delivered. This will help us get you in the right account and then we can proceed.

Thanks, but after two hours of searching around I finally sent an e-mail to support@wordpress.com, got an automated answer saying it was no longer in use, and at least it gave me a link to look up the transaction where I found it was for my son’s site, which I did authorize, but forgot about since the original transaction was a year ago.

However, before I found this out I called my bank, reported my card as stolen and am now having a new card sent, needlessly.

The difficulty and time it took to find out this information is very disappointing.

There should be a link on the same page as billing activity, where we can search and find this out instead of having to post this in a forum, or send an email to a defunct address, waste tons of time, wait for an answer, etc, etc, etc..

If there had even been a phone number to call where I could have talked to a person, I could have had the answer in less than 10 minutes and saved us both a lot of time, and irritation.

    Thanks,

    Mark

  • @mwrpaintings I wanted to add as well, if you didn’t find an email receipt to check, you can head to wpchrg.com to securely look up the charge.

Once you’re logged into the correct account, we can help you get a refund.
