@valentine – you’re correct; PayPal is on the list of supported countries. Over time however, it seems like PayPal has gone back and forth on certain payment elements from Sri Lanka. While their developer docs appear to support Sri Lanka as well, the error code we’re seeing seems to indicate otherwise. Currently investigating!
@hnbassurance – Regarding Bitcoins, at this point, I don’t believe we accept payment for domain via Bitcoin. However, it’s something we’re looking into supporting in the future.
Can you try making the payment directly with PayPal by linking your bank account to PayPal and doing a funds transfer rather than paying with Credit Card? We’ve had success with payments from Sri Lanka using this format in the past.

Can you please provide detailed information on how to link the account to paypal and do a funds transfer as suggested? A link/screenshots would be most helpful.
Just curious, Is there a way to ensure that this method will work (ie: have you had any other WP blogs from Sri Lanka make the purchase succesfully as of late?)

Offhand, I honestly don’t know of any Sri Lanka users that have attempted this method so I can’t guarantee success. However, even if this doesn’t work, we will find a way to get you up and running. I promise!

Once your bank account is linked, you’ll want to select “PayPal” instead of “Credit Card” when checking out at WordPress.com.

Wonderful! I’m glad you were able to get this to work. When you say “confirmation email”, are you referring to a receipt or something different? All of your receipts can be found in your Billing History here:
