Credit card declined

Hi,
I am not able to pay with Amex $US . It keeps on telling me that it only accept $Us. I don’t understand as my card is in $US . Can you please shed a light on this matter.

Below are the only accepted means of payment.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country. Note: You can buy a prepaid credit card from an approved country.
In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.
The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.

Hi thank you all for all the replies . The only way I could resolve this issue was to pay via PayPal . I just wonder why My Amex was not accepted. I used it before and no problem . I travelled the world and never had any issues. But with you guys seem to run into problems…..hard to understand .
On a different topic, why my subs which was not due to be renewed till January suddenly goes bac for renewal in December?

We auto renew upgrades 30 days before their expiration date. Why? Since letting something like a domain expire means you may not be able to get it back in the future, we want to ensure that everything is taken care of in advance. We do send out notification emails before charging your card, as we try not to surprise anyone.
Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Hi and thanks for the reply. There is one thing tho that is not clear. If the expiration date is 13th January 2016, why is it then that my subs starts on December 16th? that is what I don’t get. Hope you can clarify this.

December 16th is just the day that the auto-renewal was run. The 12 months were added onto your expiration date of January 16, 2016. So the new expiration date is January 16, 2017.
