crediting and linking

This is not a wordpress issue but I don’t have anywhere else to ask it. On the weekend I was surfing the net and quite accidently found a great avatar. My husband even remarked that it looked like me so I downloaded it and have been using it in “contact me” widgets along with my email address. I thought I had bookmarked the site I got it from but didn’t. I’ve looked for it but can’t find it again. It said I could use anything I downloaded it for personal use but I’m an artist to and I want to credit the artist who created it and link to him or her. Any suggestions about how to find the artist?

Daft one, but try googling the original filename.
I would go with pods and try your browser’s history.

Sheesh! Before I posted this I really did try. My browser’s history has been wiped clean since I downloaded it. I tried googling “images” with the original file name and came up with zero, zip, zilch, nada. But it does have those little dots on the bottom right corner are they for tracking?
