Creepy, possibly pedophile posting comments.

Hi. I’m not sure what to do. I got two comments from someone named “James” who discussed how perfect my young daughters’ feet are (they’re 9 and 7) and how he was going to save one of the photos to look at later. Is there a way to report him and/or block him without having to make my blog private (which I have in the meantime).

    Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Private is fine for now.

You can mark the comments Spam also.

But, why are you posting pictures of your kids for all the world to see?

Most of the people who read my blog are family or friends. It’s usually only when I post something thought-provoking that I get other readers.

I’ve taken several off already, and made several posts private, which is what I think is going to have to do for now.

If you are creeped out, I can pass the commenter’s information to someone I know on Twitter and she will pass the information on to some activists who take a keen interest in defending children. But you will need to give me the commenter’s info, ie email, URL, username.

You could put posts you only want your family and friends to see on a password-protected page or something? I put my ‘meeting up for walks’ posts on a password-protected page in case someone works out who I am and robs my house when I’m away otherwise. That way, only the folks I know who I’ve given the password to can read when I’m going to be away. (I’m not sure whether you can password-protect individual posts – I suspect it’s only pages)…

Quite a few parenting bloggers do this for all posts containing pictures of their children. And yes, you can do it for individual posts too.
