Critical Error
-
I am helping my customer update their website, however, we have been locked out as one of the plugins/themes we are testing has caused a critical error. I do not have access to their host, DNS, FTP, or PHP files. Is there any way to revert to an archived version, or some way to restore the site?

Hi there!
Can you let us know the URL of the site where you’re having this problem? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Please note that we can only assist with websites hosted at WordPress.com. If you’re using the WordPress software but hosted elsewhere, you will need to reach out to your hosting provider or the WordPress.org community for guidance:

Thank you!

Thanks for that. We are unable to help because we don’t host your site directly on our WordPress.com managed hosting. Instead, your site is hosted with a different provider on a separate host, and we’re unable to access your site’s backend to take a closer look. But I can get you pointed in the right direction.
If your site is broken due to a plugin or theme, your only way to “fix” it is via FTP. Otherwise, the hosting provider might have a backup they could restore or they can access the site install and remove the item causing the error.
If you still have trouble, please reach out to the WordPress community for guidance:

The folks in the open-source forum are more familiar with these issues and are in the best position to help.
I hope this points you in the right direction.
