Critical Error
-
Hi there. I have received this message while trying to log in to a website I’ve been editing.
‘There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.
Learn more about debugging in WordPress.’
I do not know or have access to the site admin email as I was not the one to build the website originally. That person has already left the company quite a while ago, and the server administrator (who provided me with access to editing privileges) claims he does not have access to the site admin email and is unable to help me.
Please, is there any other way I can reset the website or have the reset email sent to my inbox?

Hi there,
I checked your site and it appears you’re in the wrong forum. Although your site is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack, it is using the open-source WordPress.org software and you need to seek help at these forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would also reach out to your site host for help.
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:
Thanks!

Hi there–
I was attempting to install a new plugin, when I got the same “critical error” message. Now I can’t get into my dashboard, and I also did not get an email. Can you help? -
I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.
What is the URL of the site with the problem?

Ah ok, since that site is under our Business Plan, please first log into WordPress.com as the owner of that plan (not the account you’re currently logged in as) and reach out to our Live Chat support team at https://wordpress.com/help/contact
They’ll have the tools necessary to help you with this.
