Critical Error

  • Unknown's avatar

I was in the middle of updating plugins when they stopped uploading saying there was an error. Any attempt to view my site or check admin pages all I got was a white page saying “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

I never got any email. I checked on my hosting site and everything looks tickityboo over there.

I tried to access my plugins from my user dashboard with wordpress.com, but it just says it can’t access it.

I have a concussion and struggle reading off a screen, so the thought of having to scroll through pages and pages on the forum trying to figure this out when I’m not even sure what went wrong makes me want to cry… (I physically can’t.)… My site could be down for the next year at that rate…….. So I’m hoping somebody can point me in the right direction

  • Hi there,

The best place to get help with that issue are the WordPress.org support forums:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

The forum you have posted is for the WordPress.com hosting platform, which is different than the WordPress software that your site is using. You can learn more about these differences here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
