Critical Error after editing the Functions.php file of my theme
-
Hello all!
I was attempting to edit the functions.php file inside my active theme to add a custom admin panel, but it seems there was a typo in the code that triggered a critical error. I used the WP File Manager plugin to edit the file because my hosting service (Hostinger) doesn’t seem to be correctly reflecting changes to my live site. The problem is that I am now unable to delete the code I added to the file without access to the admin panel.
I’ve already tried accessing and editing the file from Hostinger, but the only version available is the pre-edited script. I’m confused as to why the files on Hostinger aren’t the same as the ones present in the WP File Manager plugin. I’ve also tried restoring the site to a previous backup, but I’m still encountering the critical error.
Any help about why the files aren’t properly synced would be great, but more than anything I’d just like to get the site back up and running. Thanks in advance! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This website is not hosted at WordPress.com. This is likely a self-hosted WordPress website. So, you would want to reach out to your hosting provider for advice on how to solve this.

I once edited functions.php file; however, I never encountered any error yet. I always wonder how difficult it could be to solve a critical error while updating theme or plugin files. Perhaps keeping ourselves in a learning mode might help.
