Critical error message

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I cannot make any edits or changes to my website. It keeps saying ‘server error 500’ or something along those lines when i try to click the update button on changes i have made. I then get a white screen with a message that says ‘critical error’.

I am not sure what has gone wrong but i have recently added Memberspress for a membership element to my website, thats the only thing that has changed.

  • Hello there,

It appears your site is hosted at https://synergywholesale.com/ rather than WordPress.com. I recommend contacting their support since we wouldn’t have access to it. We provide support specifically for WordPress.com sites, so this issue would be outside our scope of support.

Internal server errors can be caused by plugin or theme conflicts. If you can access your website’s dashboard, you can try dedicating plugins to check if one is causing the issue. If you don’t have access to your dashboard, you can try manually resetting plugins:
    https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus

For sites hosted here at WordPress.com, our Happiness Engineers can access a site and turn off problematic plugins when our users cannot. So, if you would like to look at getting quick help for issues like this in the future, you may want to consider adding a Business Plan and migrating your site here.

    Move to WordPress.com:

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions, and have a great day!
