Critical Error Message and Cannot Login to Backend

  Hello,

  I am receiving this message when I try to login the backend of the website (using /wp-login.php):

  ‘There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

  Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.’

  I am an administrator on the site and was doing some edits to the themes. I was initially using a staging site for edits but wanted to try to do a change on one page of the regular site. I noticed it changed the entire website’s formatting, so I activated the backup I created with WP Staging thinking that it would revert back to the original settings and themes from yesterday (that’s when I did the backup).

  The website is still available but the theme is still off. I have access to the staging site still but not the original site’s backend. I also did not receive an email from WordPress with instructions – my boss may have received it but he’s currently on vacation.
